Anton Theron (B.Proc) is an admitted attorney, notary, conveyancer and also the director of Tonkin Clacey Pretoria and brings some 35 years’ worth of experience to the firm. Anton has extensive litigation experience from over ten years spent with the State Attorney’s office. He is also a property law expert, and specialises in all aspects of conveyancing. He is currently the convenor for the conveyancing examination, vice-chairperson of the Gauteng Law Council and current member of the central committees and property committees of the Pretoria and Johannesburg Attorneys’ Association, as well as the Gauteng Law Council and the Law Societies of South Africa. Anton is also the drafter and examiner of the conveyancing national exam in South Africa.
(BCOM Law, LLB) is a litigation and dispute resolution lawyer specializing in Construction and Engineering Law. She commenced her articles at Markram Inc under Hendrik Markram in 2016 after being appointed as administrative assistant in 2015 at the firm during her final year of studies. She was admitted as attorney of the High Court in May 2018. Sumari endeavors to expand her knowledge in the field of construction contracts and property law.
(BA: Law, LLB) joined Markram Incorporated in 2016 as a Candidate Attorney. She served articles under Amelia Markram and Anton Theron, during which time she developed a keen interest in Construction Law, Insurance Law and Professional Indemnity Claims, and Contract Law. Claire now practices as an attorney at Markram Incorporated Attorneys, following her admission during May 2018 and specializes in construction disputes and insurance matters.
Liezl Vosloo is an admitted Attorney, Notary and Conveyancer. She specialises in all aspects of conveyancing and has been under the employment of Mr Anton Theron since 2004. Liezl also commenced her articles of clerkship under Mr Anton Theron whilst completing her LLB degree. Today she serves as Mr Anton Theron’s professional assistant. She was admitted as an Attorney, Notary and Conveyancer in 2015.
(LLB) is an admitted attorney and serves as a professional assistant in the Engineering, Construction and Insurance Law department. Carma served her articles of clerkship at Markram Inc under Amelia Markram and was admitted as an attorney in 2017. She specializes in general litigation and alternative dispute resolution, as well as providing opinions and advice to insurers.
(LLB; LLM) joined Markram Incorporated in 2017 as a Professional Assistant in the Construction and Engineering Department. She completed her LLM in Contract Law in 2016 and was admitted as an Attorney of the High Court in April 2016. Prior to joining Markram Incorporated, she practised at a Commercial Law firm specialising in various commercial contracts. She uses her knowledge in contract law to assess and interpret the relevant construction contracts and advise clients accordingly.
Allen West was the Chief of Deeds Training from 1 July 1984 to 30 September 2014. He is the co‑author of numerous books on conveyancing and has published more than one hundred articles in leading law journals. He also regularly posts articles on Ghost Digest. Allen is also a lecturer extra ordinary at the University of Pretoria and a moderator and consultant of Conveyancing subjects at Unisa. He has presented courses for the LSSA (LEAD) since 1984 and has served on the following boards: Sectional Title Regulation Board, Deeds Registries Regulation Board, and Conference of Registrars, as well as numerous other related committees.
Allen was the editor of the South African Deeds Journal (SADJ), since its inception until September 2014.
Allen West obtained his qualifications (NDRD) from Unisa and has also studied at the University of Wisconsin Madison. Allen underwent articles in 1982 with the firm Mike Odendaal Ferreira and Davel.
